What is the shelf life for an opened jar of mustard? And an unopened jar?

An unopened jar will be good for about a year.

An opened jar of mustard, if left in the pantry, will last about 1-2 months.

If refrigerated after opening, and always using clean utensils when serving, a jar will last 8 to 12 months.

Why is shipping so expensive?

Our preferred method of shipping is Canada Post. So far they have been able to deliver in a timely manner, with no breakage (knock on wood) and at good rates.

When you take into account the glass jar, the mustard inside and the packing material to make sure it gets to you in one piece, that’s a good amount of weight.

If you are placing an order and get to the cart thinking the shipping fees seem really out of whack, send us an email and we will make sure you get the best rates.

Is your mustard gluten free?

Good question.

Our mustards are blended with distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar, neither of which is made from wheat products, and we do not add thickeners such as wheat flour.

The mustard seed we use is cleaned and packaged at a mustard only facility. Gluten does not occur in mustard seed and the chance of cross contamination with products containing gluten is low but not 100% guaranteed.

Why do some mustards separate?

Most mustards will separate unless they have an added emulsifyer.

Our mustard is blended without emulsifying agents. Just shake or stir well before use.

We offer a full money-back guarantee for all purchases made on our website. 

If you are not 100% satisfied with the product that you have purchased from us return it to us within 14 days of purchase. We will not reimburse shipping costs.
